Changes!

For those of you wondering why the site was down for a bit just now:

vBulletin was upgraded to the latest release (3.6.8)
I also installed the nifty "Forum Jump" menu that you see in the navigation bar at the top of any page.
I've added a sidebar to many of the pages so that some of the content from the main page of the site will appear throughout the site.

Feel free to discuss any of these changes here.

It's kind of a work in progress. Not everything is exactly how I want it yet and there are a few small things that I'm still working on implementing and/or tweaking, but so far so good!

UPDATE: The forum jump menu now works on the front page as well. I don't know if anyone else had noticed, but first it didn't appear there, then it didn't link to the forums correctly. Now it works just fine, though.

I started seeing it yesterday or the day before on the main page.

I've also noticed the site is loading a lot quicker for me lately. It used to take a LONG time. Almost like i was on dial-up... *shudders in memory*

Only thing that gets me now, is sometimes, even when theres no 'new' posts. The icon saying there's a new post displays next to the forum link.

Yeah, it was up around then, but didn't work correctly until today.

I tweaked some settings in the background that cut down on database queries and seems to have made a big difference in the speed of loading certain pages, most notably the threads themselves as well as the online users page.

Easy solution: Click on "Quick Links" and choose "Mark Forums Read".

Even more changes: The "Arcade Stats" module on the front page works again! It now shows a random arcade game, the top ten champions, the most played games, and the newest additions.
