Why Conservatives Are Happier Than Liberals

Of course, this was taken out of FOXNews.com a very conservative news station but, I thought what the hell.

Isn't evolution, which everyone here apparently supports to the death, based in survival of the fittest?

If you can't make it on your own, you can't make it. So what is wrong with inequalities?

Timepants 'survival of the fittest' is not the base point of evolution at all. Its merely an occurance that happens in particular environments. Look at evolution now. We support the weak, we educate the weak, and as a species we grow stronger. There are many other elements to evolution.

I don't think this has anything to do with conservatives being happier. The honest answer to this is that Conservatives were under a government that caters to them. When the democrats win, the liberal people will be happier. I think the research and the writeup posted here is complete bullshit. How many people did they interview. Where did they get their test groups. Were all the liberal respondants poor? Were all the conservative respondants rich? These factors can make people happy or sad, and it has nothing to do with the fact that they are conservative or not.

I don't even know what to call myself. I think conservatives are too heavy on the bible thumping ideas, and I think liberals waste money like there is no tomorrow. I'm happy, and wouldn't fall into one of those categories. Only fox news could report something like that.

I disagree. Having the status quo support people who cannot or will not support themselves is a drain on society. In nature, animals destroy sickly young, to preserve the rest of the litter and themselves.

America is currently turning socialist, which is very sad. No socialist or communist society has worked in the past. Look what happened to the Soviet Union.

Also, our concepts of who is weak need to be revised. Black people aren't weak. They are exactly the same as everyone else, including asians, whites, and latinos. So why do they need help getting into college?

The soviet union was not socialist or communist in their philisophical form. It was a dictatorship hiding behind the name "communist". The same holds true for China.

Their economy was communist however.

China was/(is?) socialist though. I believe the Soviet Union was the only true communist economy so far in history.

edit - Communism is an economic system, not a political system.

I'm afraid we're going to end up as a dictatorship hiding behind the name "democrat" or "republican"
We're probably farther down that road now than we want to think.

Ever since Eisenhower (most likely butchered the spelling on that one) was your president you've been under the control of one party. There is alot of proof to the industrial military giant that controls america. This is what runs the whole democrat vs republican to make you feel like you have a choice. You don't though, and its funny how people don't question this. The only reason we drive fossil fuel based vehicles and buy fossil fuel energy from our government is due to slavery. With these commodities being a necesity when we have alternatives being hidden away by the corporate and military giants, we are being made to pay for something. This is how they control us.

Timepants, you said your worried about a dictatorship? Didn't the majority of americans say NO WAR IN IRAQ? But what happened? The dictator got his way. You were close by being worried about it happening, but its happening already.

The majority of people also voted for Gore.

And the majority of people support socialized medecine.

And a growing group, probably soon to be a majority, don't graduate highschool. (40% now)

What does the majority matter?

Anyway, in a dual party system, you have one more choice than in a dictatorship, anyway. At least 10 parties would be a good start, but that's just my uneducated opinion.

As far as fossil fuel usage, I would hazard a guess to say its just the easiest to use and harvest thus far. If alternative energies are as easy as you seem to believe, wouldn't the corporate giants use them (since they are easy to use) and gouge for energy prices anyway? They would, wouldn't they? So why don't they?

edit -
What this has to do with the topic, I don't know. Just Oxll criticizing America every chance he gets, I suppose.

If pointing out the obvious is criticizing america then I guess so.

Seeing as you were the only one to post in such a long time I figured replying to your comment on dictatorships would be fitting. You seem to want to dodge the subject when someone disagrees with your point of view.

Your points about gore, socialized medicine etc... are something we can agree on. However from my perspective I see that as not freedom of choice, but a select few controling the rest.

That's understandable, I hadn't realized it was a dead thread.

I agree that America has these problems, I was just commenting that you are always prolific in your criticisms of the United States.

This is neither here nor there, as it is still off the topic of the post. Maybe you can start a new thread involving American dictatorship and the propagation of fossil fuels?
