| Someone finally gets it right: Censure Bush! The LA Times is reporting that my very own Senator from Wisconsin, Russ Feingold, who I'm proud to say I've voted for, is proposing two resolutions to censure President Bush and VP Cheney. Sure, it's not exactly the impeachment of Bush and Cheney that a strong majority of the nation would love to see, but at least it's a formal on-the-record reprimand. The first resolution will target the two of them directly for "'misconduct related to the war in Iraq' such as 'overstating' Saddam Hussein's possession of weapons of mass destruction, 'failing to plan for the civil conflict and humanitarian problems,' and 'justifying our military involvement in Iraq by repeatedly distorting the situation on the ground there.'" The second resolution will target the entire administration focusing on "administration's attack on the rule of law". This one, as anyone who's been following the scandals knows, is a biggie. It is specifically referring to acts such as warrantless wiretapping, torture at Guantanamo Bay, the politically driven firings of several US attorneys, and likely plenty more that he has not yet revealed. Sadly, even his own party is saying that these resolutions have little chance of passing, but at least someone is moving in the right direction. If only the senate could rally behind the impeachment charges that Bush and Cheney have worked so hard to earn. |

| first of all the 'overstating' Saddam Hussein's possession of weapons of mass destrucion?!?! the president went on avalible info that former president Clinton himself said was there. now, the war is a complete cluster fuck there's no doubt about that but, president Bush didnt just make it up. and seriously wiretapping what president hasnt, torture at Guantanamo Bay, that place has been operating for many years, long before Bush came around. why does everyone put it on his shoulders, Clinton could have done something about it. and the firing of several US attorneys, are you kidding!?!?!?! every president cleans out these guys out every term, and Clinton holds the record for firing the most and was still empeached! |

| About time that Bush and Cheney get punished. All those reasons are exactly why I hate the Bush party and his close circle of friends who get rich off war and terrorism. Phig, Guantanamo Bay was a military base, up until 2002. It wasn't really converted as such, but merely had a large prison facility built to house people of muslim faith who have not been charged with anything. There are NAZI's in jail today for doing the exact same things that are being done in guantanamo. So why aren't there Americans going to jail? Oh yeah you haven't lost the war yet. Secondly Clinton did not say weapons of Mass destruction. He said the CIA told him that. And that is because the CIA is fucking corrupt and useless now. So help keep pressure on your senators to go for an impeachment. Bush deserves the worst.

| Ok... so Bush & Cheney would get a reprimand. What exactly does anyone think that will accomplish. I can answer that. Not a god damn thing. Senators should stop wasting their time on whether or not to impeach the president & vice president and start spending some more time on issues that need to be addressed now. Such as, the rise in inflation, the contradiction of a minimum wage, illegal immigration (which the UN is now in a scandal for), tax rate, removal of gun control laws, the losing war on drugs, ESA which should have been repealed YEARS ago. I could go on and on on issues that are more important then Bush & Cheney, yet instead of tackling the issues that are actually important, the newly elected democratic congress has backpeddled through nearly every campaign promise that was made this past election. No hidden budgets in bills. That's a joke, Hillary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, all the big name democratic senators and a few congressmen have all added clauses into bills they've proposed since the democrats have taken control to give funding to things they think need money. Something they said they would put an end to if they gained control. These elected officials are all a joke. What needs to be done is exactly what our founding fathers originally said. In order to have a truely free society, the people should overthrow their government every 20 years. I beleive that was the amount of years they gave, I might be off on that, but not by much. What we need are TRUE progressives in power. People who will do what constitution states. No more, no less. That is all they are there for. Judicial Branch to interpret laws, executive to enforce and legislative to make them if they're needed. |
