Well, it's Diablo III has been officially announced. Let the speculation begin!

For the first time in a long time, Blizzard actually has games in the "upcoming" pile that I'm interested in playing.

Well the only things I know are its going to be free to play since its going on battle.net and like 5? more classes to be revield yet. open beta wont begin until Q3 of 2009 thats it for me.

I hope they put in a better PVP system and get rid of that safe zone shit they had earlier where you had to actually set up a pvp match.

They're going to reveal 3 more classes. Where did you hear about the open beta date? And I would like to see some sort of PK system as well.

Watching the gameplay video again, I noticed something. The Barbarian's mana bubble is a different hue than the Witch Doctor's. Is it because the Barb was in a darker environment that the color is lightened so it is easily recognized? Or is the Barb's mana bubble not a mana bubble (Think rage or focus bar from WoW)?

Haven't found any information on it, but I haven't really looked.

D3 looks like its got back to the hack & slash basics that we all loved in the original: mass loot, traps, and monsters that can actually kill you if you aren't careful (like how that one boss instakills 2 of the players). This is still NOT an MMO! And it should stay that way. I miss the random dungeon crawl experience and equally random PKing and stealing ears/gold/loot!

One thing I like to see throughout all the Diablo games is the effort put in to dazzling FX. Memorable environments and characters always a given. Male and female models of each class is something we've wanted for a while too and we got it. This is definitely going to be another great time killer even if the PK/PVP gets screwed.

my fav character and type in D2 was a Summoning Necro... kicked ass when i would play with my brother who was a Fanaticism Pally...all of my summons would get enchanted, we owned face PvE... Summoning Necros get fed their own assholes in PvP though.

D2 I started as a paladin because of Final Fantasy II (Cecil was just badass). Afterwords I fell in love with the Sorceress and stuck with that. I remember my computer couldn't handle multiple Frozen Orbs (or whatever the spell is called) on the screen at one time, and so I'd lag myself if I didn't watch my casting.

Would I need a cd-key if I were to just play the single player for D2? If I don't, maybe I'll just download the clients off FileFront or something and play by my lonesome.. I'm that bored.

You can get the Battle chest for like $30-$40 and it has Diablo I, II, and Lord of Destruction expansion with strategy guide and stuff.

Spoiler This will be the end of the Diablo storyline. The idea of a Diablo MMO has died at this point since WoW would be in conflict of course. Games like Diablo are what keep ppl away from MMOs. So enjoy this while you can. The only game that will surprise me more in the future is BALDUR'S GATE III! Or a better D&D MMO from Atari based on the Forgotten Realms gamesets. Man I hate Black Isle/Bioware lost the D&D license even more now __________________
